The pioneering producer, DJ, label boss, and radio host is one of the main reasons EDM is as popular as it is today. Both as a solo artist and member of the iconic megagroup Swedish House Mafia, his music has filled festival stages and arenas all across the world. We’re sure even your grandma’s heard one of his tunes at some point. Maybe it’s time to get out from under that rock…
A Shared Spirit
In 2003, Steve had an idea: to redefine house music in his own style. Launching Size Records, he began remixing classic and creating originals, collaborating with childhood friend Sebastian Ingrosso, and pushing a new sound in Stockholm. The duo later formed Swedish House Mafia alongside Axwell, and well, the rest is history.
Just like Steve, our founders had an idea: to create a speaker for their Roskilde Festival campsite. Spending all their spare time in 2014 experimenting, building, and researching, the first SOUNDBOKS was born. This DIY spirit is something both sides of this exclusive collaboration are built on. Why hang around and wait for someone else to do it when you can do it yourself, right?

It’s fair to say that Steve is and always has been obsessed with music. From his days as a 12-year-old scratch DJ to becoming the multi-platinum touring artist he is today, sharing songs has been a major part of his life. Why? Because he understands the power of music.

That leads us to talk about the 100 limited edition SIZE SOUND SYSTEM SOUNDBOKS that are now out there powering parties and making memories in the real world. After Steve experienced a SOUNDBOKS in action and spoken to his friends and family about our brand, he knew he’d found the right speaker to bring this new vision to life. Combining this shared DIY spirit and desire to make life’s biggest memories, the collaboration was all about helping you do the same.
I was finishing up a new track and took the speaker around to different locations to work on it. It was such a cool experience, switching up the scenery for the song and testing it in new environments. Taking it to all these places and creating a new listening experience each time is a memory close to my heart.
He’s toured the world with a SOUNDBOKS by his side. Whether testing unreleased music from superstar producers, prepping for festival performances, or finishing off his own music, every experience has created new memories.
